<p>Healthy diet—which includes eating a balanced amount of food from all of the food groups—along with exercise or regular physical activity can decrease a persons risk for a whole host of health problems. Doctors say that even though the basic principle of healthy diet is simple, there are many people who have a hard time sticking to their diet plan for one reason or another. We see many people who have very busy lifestyles that make it difficult to keep to their eating schedule. This stressful lifestyle also contributes to weight gain. Stress is also a major factor for many other serious medical conditions like high blood pressure and heart disease.</p>

<p>To begin with, most experts advise a mix of food choices from each of the four food groups. Eating a large variety of meats, fruits and veggies is a very good start. A balanced intake of calcium-rich foods, whole grains, and protein-rich products is a great way to gradually make the switch from your current eating habits to a healthy exercise and diet plan. Once you have gotten into the habit and have adjusted to having more variety in your diet, and have made the switch to more veggies start looking more closely at the fats that you are taking in and be sure not to cut the good fats out of your diet. <p>- filled with fish dishes that have high amounts of fish oil because fish oil lubricates the inner walls of your blood vessels which decreased your risk of high blood pressure along with a host of other medical problems. Fish also provides protein, vitamins, and minerals that are not in other meats;</p>
<p>- low on saturated fats and excess sugars such as meat pies, sausages, hard cheese, butter and lard, pastry, cake, biscuits, cream and the others because they are high in complex calories stored in the muscles and sugars that can cause tooth decay.</p>
<p>- lower in salt content because experts believe that foods that having too much salt in your diet thickens the blood and thereby raises a persons blood pressure. This can lead to more complicated diseases especially those related to coronary illnesses; and</p>
<p>- take in lots of water because experts believe that for a person to achieve optimum health and fitness, he or she should take in lots and lots of water and foods that are high in fluid content to keep the body well-hydrated.</p>
